However our space utilisation analysis identified an opportunity to demolish two of the existing buildings, unlocking the puzzle. A two-phase solution, created around an attractive landscaped courtyard, would then replace all but the Georgian House.
Early consultation with Local Authority Planners, English Heritage and local conservation groups ensured that stakeholders bought into the College’s vision. The design respects the scale of the historic streetscape and creates a high-quality contemporary ‘shop-frontage’ for the hair & beauty department.
We have continued to work with the College to assist them in preparing a successful application for SFA capital funding for the second phase and are now delighted to have been appointed again as architects. This project will complete the redevelopment of the College’s entire estate, with the Ware campus complimenting the Award winning Broxbourne campus, also designed and delivered by Bond Bryan.
