Floor-to-ceiling glazing to the eight floors of offices provides impressive panoramic views over the city’s heavily treed southern suburbs. The offices sit above a three-storey car park adjacent the ring road; this then allows the hotel’s guest rooms to be oriented toward the much quieter Young Street.
A green roof at the centre of the development reduces the rate of rainwater run off from the site and makes an attractive bio-diverse garden.
The hotel’s 122 guest rooms are arranged on nine upper floors. The rooms, entirely prefabricated in self-supporting steel framed modules and weighing up to 16 tonnes each, were craned into position in just 13 days.
